Twenty-seven percent of the housing industry’s workforce identifies as a racial or ethnic minority. Fannie Mae and the Mortgage Bankers Association are looking to change that. In 2019, MBA and Fannie Mae’s Future Housing Leaders program announced a partnership to promote diversity and inclusion in the housing finance industry. Lisa Haynes, SVP, CFO and Chief Diversity and Inclusion Officer, for the MBA, said one of the goals of the partnership is to come up with ways they can teach students about the housing and mortgage industry.
